Shots of Malcolm X, talking, and in Smethwick. Willard Wiggin’s VO saying that he remembers first seeing him on television when he was six, and later finding out more about him in the library. Wiggin talks of his ambition "to create a big Malcolm and a small Malcolm". Wiggin carving a toothpick. He talks of starting to carve with a razor blade; says how hard it is to carve in miniature. Sculpting a block of chestnut wood. Scenes in the woods where Wiggin lives. Working on the carvings. Dancing to relax. Some of Wiggin’s toothpick carvings of famous people.
