Abstract | The world we inhabit is changing but our, “Abrahamic concept of land” remains an impediment, with our notions around land ownership based on foundations laid down centuries ago, clearly diminishing the value of home. This paper highlights some of the contrasting issues faced by tenants and owners during the Covid-19 pandemic and argues that they are, at least in part, attributable to these issues that now need to be addressed. Any possible resolution needs to recognise that these foundational perceptions continue to impact the legal framework and, critically, people. In the words of Rahm Emanuel, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” |
