Abstract

How to Teach Language Learning Strategiesis written for teachers of foreign languages interested in enabling their students to become skillful and confident independent language learners, self-regulate, and enjoy the language learning process.

The author shares a simple and effective approach for teaching language learning strategies (LLS) that she has successfully used with her students. She discusses succinctly why teach LLS, what LLS to teach, and how to teach LLS. She also presents a sample of typical feedback from students. The last chapter contains a list of strategies that can be used to design LLS training sessions, and the appendix has a selected bibliography for those who would like to research the topic in more depth.
