Abstract | This workshop introduces a new framework for reimagining public universities as social enterprises, aiming to provide a fresh perspective and guidance for scholars, HE leadership, and government officials. By proposing a paradigm shift, the paper suggests that modern universities can address challenges related to conflicting missions, marketisation of higher education, financial sustainability, and pursuit of public good by adopting social mission school of social entrepreneurship. The concept of a social enterprise university sets the stage for innovative research and strategic direction in the future. |
