Abstract

The paper explores how evidence-based policing (EBP) is understood and why it is an issue of current concern in need of further research. A genealogy of EBP is proposed taking in EBPs story-lines; subject positions; and institutional modifications. Seven areas of concern with EBP continued hegemonic progression are outlined, with final thoughts on why all of this matters.
