I joined the University of Westminster in September 2013. I hold a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Leeds (ESRC-funded) and have taught in the Universities of Leeds and Manchester, the latter as a lecturer in International Political Economy.
I am chair of the Editorial Working Group of the Review of African Political Economy. I am also a founding member of the International Initiative for Promoting Political Economy's Africa working group.
Publications include a new book, Migration Beyond Capitalism (Polity 2021), and Migrants, Borders and Global Capitalism: West African labour mobility and EU borders (Routledge 2013). I have also published articles and chapters on the global remittances agenda, migration and labour mobility in West and Southern Africa, and the CFA franc under neoliberal monetary policy (forthcoming).
My research interests include: international labour regimes, migration and remittances; the state and the social relations of production; monetary policy and democracy in West Africa with a labour focus.
