Dr Shehan Dias


Dr. Preethike Dias is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the School of Organisations, Economy and Society, Westminster Business School. He holds a B.A(Hon) Economics from University of East Anglia, Norwich, M.A (Economics)Norwich, and Ph.D.(London). He has held consultancy positions at the Credit Agrico Asset Management (London), Standard Chartered Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland in modelling foreign exchange. He was also a Research Associate at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Washington D.C. where he researched on global imbalances and foreign exchange modelling. He is a financial econometrician. Preethike has taught Economics and statistics at the Birkbeck College, University of London. He is an active advanced level swimmer.

Preethike’s current research interest is on distributional aspects of asset returns. In the past he has published papers and presented at the international conference in high-frequency Finance (Konstanz Germany) and at the Swiss Banking Institute (Zurich). He has contributed to organising an international research conference on Global Imbalances at the Peterson Institute for International Economics where he is an alumnus. Preethike is also interested in foreign exchange research.
