Dr Jacqueline Lynch is Director of Academic Professional Development in the Centre for Education and Teaching Innovation (CETI). She is passionate about marketing, learning and creativity. Her creative approach and research with students, together with her unique combination of industry experience, drive for change and challenging the status quo, coupled with an ability to influence others, has created opportunities which have been recognised and rewarded both within the University and the wider academic community.
She joined the University of Westminster in 2002 as a part-time lecturer from a successful career in marketing. Before making the transition to academia, she ran her own consultancy business and held senior marketing positions across a range of companies— Nationwide Building Society, British Telecom, and HFC Bank.
Jacqueline became one of the first Teaching Fellows of the University of Westminster in 2006 and subsequently in 2010 and was nominated for the National Teaching Fellowship award four times by Westminster University. Over the years she has had a major impact on the students and staff by creating excitement about marketing, developing degrees at both UG and PG levels and has extensive knowledge and experience of validations both internally, across faculty and externally at other Universities. She works closely with the Institute of Data & Marketing and more recently with the Chartered Institute of Marketing for the benefit of students.
She has recently published in the Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Advertising Research and previously in International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications where she was awarded best paper. She has won seed corn funding both internally and externally via the Academy of Marketing Teaching grants.
Her expertise has been recognised in the wider community where she has been a member of the Academy of Marketing Executive Committee for many years. Initially she joined as Deputy Chair of Marketing Education SIG and soon progressed to Treasurer of the Academy of Marketing for 6 years. She is now Special Interest Group Co-Ordinator for the research groups throughout the UK.

Jacqueline’s research interests are in team creativity in advertising, creativity in marketing education, and the interface between marketing and logistics. She has won internal research funds for pedagogic research into student feedback and seed corn funding from the Academy of Marketing Teaching Research & Development Grant for the following project - Assessing the value of client/agency 'real world' simulation to foster student creativity in Marketing Education.
She completed hew PhD in marketing investigating agency creativity in the evolving advertising industry. She has recently published in the Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Advertising Research and previously in International Journal of Logistics Research Applications. Her paper on 'Do Logistics and Marketing understand each other? An empirical investigation of the interface activities between logistics and marketing', International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications Vol. 11, No.3 pp.167-178 ISSN 1469-848X won best paper 2008 and achieved the second highest number of downloads.
She is a regular reviewer for the Journal of Advertising Research and Studies in Higher Education.
Jacqueline Lynch is an Executive Committee member of the leading national academic body for marketing – The Academy of Marketing. Having served as Treasurer for 6 years she is now the new Special Interest Group (SIG) co-ordinator for the research communities.
