Mr Onur Demirci

Onur is a tenured academic with practical expertise and research interests in Mathematics, spanning a number of areas, including Quant Finance, Machine Learning and Pedagogy.

He specialises in Artificial Intelligence Algorithm-Based Valuation Models (AVMs), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), equity derivative structuring, mathematical and statistical modelling that investigate the relationship between pricing and valuation, risk, pattern and correlations. He has experience in coding for financial programming using languages such as Python, Java, C++, R and MATLAB.

Onur wears two hats at the University of Westminster; he is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director within the School of Applied Management, Westminster Business School.

He is also an affiliated and matriculated member of the University of Cambridge, Homerton College, where he focuses on research on the subject of Mathematics.

Outside of academia, Onur is the Founding Partner and CEO of a FinTech startup which focuses on AI-based algorithms and Robotics leveraging cloud services such as SaaS and PaaS. Together with his team, they develop algorithms and robotics for some of the top-tier financial institutions in the UK.

In addition to this, he serves as an advisor/consultant to two regulated firms.

Prior to joining Westminster University, over the past decade, Onur has held leadership roles in asset management and systemic players as he was a strategic partner and franchise owner that led the expansion of the world's largest real estate conglomerate network into the UK.
