Dr Ugo Obibuaku joined the University of Westminster as a Lecturer at the Centre for Education and Teaching Innovation in 2019. He has worked within the human rights NGO and higher education sector for over 12 years. He was a Project Coordinator with Imagine Mental Health (UK). In the past, he taught in different institutions of higher learning, for instance - University of Exeter, University of Essex, Aberystwyth University (Mauritius Campus).
Dr Ugo Obibuaku is a qualified legal practitioner (Nigeria) with over twenty years post-call experience. He attended human rights advocates training on the use of international human right law for the promotion and protection of human rights at Danish Institute of Human Rights. He has a first degree in Law, a master’s in human Rights and a PhD in International Human Rights law. He is a Fellow of Advance HE.
Dr Ugo Obibuaku engages in multidisciplinary research and his general research interests focuses on the domestic observance and implementation of Human Rights with a particular attention to socio-economic rights. He has conducted research and published in this area.
