Ms Diana Periton
I studied architecture in the UK and worked in architectural practice for several years before taking an M.Phil in architectural history and philosophy. Since then, I have learned to call myself an architectural historian, involved in both teaching and research.
Before joining the University of Westminster, my principal teaching roles were at the Architectural Association in London and at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow.
I am one of the founding editors of the journal of the Architectural Humanities Research Association, Architecture and Culture.
My recent research concerns the city. Specifically, it focuses on the development of urbanism as a discipline in the early twentieth century; the research asks what urbanism’s various different practitioners understood a city to be, and how these understandings were synthesized.
