Bo joined the Westminster Business School (WBS) in October 2021 as a Lecturer. Prior to that, he held the position as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Management School, University of Sheffield. He received his Ph.D. in Finance and Accounting from the Sheffield University Management School (SUMS). He also holds an MSc degree with Distinction in Finance and Accounting from the SUMS and a BSc degree in Accounting from Shandong University (one '985' university in China). Bo has presented his research papers at world-leading finance, accounting, and economics conferences including the Eastern Finance Association (EFA) Annual Meeting, Financial Management Association (FMA) European Conference, European Financial Management Association (EFMA) Annual Conference, European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) Annual Conference, etc. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Bo's research has largely focused on the following areas:

Financial economics (e.g., Industry competition, Government subsidies, Institutional ownership),
Political finance (e.g., Political uncertainty, Political turnover),
Firm behavior under imperfect capital markets,
The economics of transition in China.
