Dr Laura Joyner


Laura is a Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer in Psychology. 

She currently works on the research project: "Behaviours preceding suicides at road and bridge locations: advancing research and practice using multiple data sources" led by Professor Jay-Marie Mackenzie (University of Westminster) and Professor Lisa Marzano (Middlesex University). Prior to this she worked for three years as a Research Fellow in Suicide Prevention Research at Middlesex University, on the "Questioning, Understanding, & Evaluating Suicide Surveillance Technologies" (QUESST) project, led by the same team. 

Laura completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of Westminster in 2023, with the thesis "Why Do People Spread Disinformation on Social Media? The Role of Social Identity and Perceived Morality".

Her research broadly explores how physical, social, and digital environments shape judgements and behaviour.
