Mr Timo Holtappels

My career journey reflects a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive team cultures, drawing from experiences across various industries and countries, including Germany, Denmark, China, and the UK. I approach challenges with a calm, thoughtful perspective, valuing collaboration and problem-solving.

With an MBA specialised in Digital Innovation and Management, my work is driven by a meticulous approach to research and a practical mind-set. I specialise in developing effective corporate governance strategies, leveraging insights from my diverse background to address complex issues and drive sustainable results.

I bring a range of skills from across industries, applying a broad understanding of global business dynamics to create adaptable strategies. Above all, my focus remains on contributing meaningfully to the fields of digital transformation and sustainability, with a commitment to fostering inclusive environments.

In my research I focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) studies, paired with equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) outlooks and connecting their impact in and on digital transformation.

Since May 2025 I am involved with the Research Centre on Peripheral Populations and work under Dr. Maria Granados and a interdisciplinary team on a Horizon Europe proposal (Cluster 6: Circular and Bioeconomy). This research "Beyond Compliance: Unlocking the full potential of Social Value and Nature Capital for SMEs" aims to develop a Decision-Support Tool to help SMEs move beyond compliance and embed sustainability into their core strategy.
