Description

Commission to create a facade for the Library (13m x 2m60) - following a series of workshops with local schools and community groups, the designs resulted in mirror polished, bead-blasted stainless steel panels with eight “stained-glass” windows, with imagery based upon the workshop materials plus images of “history and place” from that sea side town. The materials used, the metaphor and image content, and the reflections cast on the floor inside and out, give the project it’s title. Launched Nov 6th 2007. Funded by Bournemouth Council, Arts Council of England and Synergy Housing.
