Abstract

《二马》是老舍在旅英期间经历东西方文化碰撞后创作的小说,东方与西方都是这部小说的主角。然而,由于域外史料的缺乏和自身视角的局限,以往对这部小说的研究都是从单一的东方视角出发的。本文作者在关注英国以华人和唐人街为题材的小说时发现,《二马》是唯一一部由中国人书写的这一题材的小说。通过还原历史现场以及对比其他同类题材小说,作者为我们展现了小说《二马》的域外生成背景,并在此背景下解读这部小说,分析了一些有重要意义却从未被发现的细节及隐喻。文中归集的文化史料以及从域外视角分析得出的观点,对进一步深化老舍早期文学创作及思想背景的研究,有多方面的启示,其发掘东西方文学、文化差异的研究视野和研究方法,也很值得我们重视。
