Abstract | The book is a multidisciplinary anthropological research (social, religious, psychiatric and psychoanalytic anthropology), which analyses the phenomenon of evil eye. The book engages anthropologically with the field of Corfu Island in Greece. It is a pioneering research that investigates Christian Orthodox influences on the phenomenon of evil eye and how it affects individuals’ journey of personhood and mental health. It also engaged with the role of mirrors 'eye' in the development of the 'I'. Hence, the book develops an interdisciplinary dialogue, which brings a different and fresh view of the phenomenon of evil eye as a facilitator of wellbeing process than a generator of calamities. |
