Description | Bodies, where ‘normal’ functions like digestion and excretion are enabled through non-human infrastructure (tubes, bags, and pumps), are more-than-leaky. Such bodies constantly subvert bodily boundaries and these transgressions, combined with ever threatening explosions of bodily fluid, mean that by simply existing, people with tubes, bags, and pumps resist notions of a ‘disciplined body’. In this piece, we consider what resisting disciplined bodies means for care-full, intimate, and interdependent feminist futures. |
