| Abstract | Originating in an emerging movement of political resistance in 1930's East London, the Workers Film & Photo League employed the camera as 'a weapon in the struggle' to represent an image of Working Lives absent from the mainstream press. This book aims to shed light on and glean long overdue recognition of the the League's activities, charting its significant role in the British interwar radical avant-garde film movement through to its influence on the radical film movement of the 1970s and connections to radical filmmaking in the present. |
