Abstract | Modern distributed applications demand rapid data processing for real-time responses. Whilst Edge Computing can meet this need, its integration with centralised serverless Function as a Service (FaaS) infrastructures faces challenges due to complex resource management and privacy concerns. This paper proposes a Marketplace to enable intelligent function execution in a multi-provider setting across the Edge-Cloud continuum, optimising performance and ensuring client privacy. We implemented a proof of concept using Paillier Homomorphic Encryption to assess the feasibility and overhead of clients requesting function execution without disclosing the specific function they request to the Marketplace. Experiments show promising results, paving the way for further research on distributed mechanisms and algorithms for optimised function execution |
