I have been actively involved in public engagement, particularly in the fields of sustainability and corporate governance. As a result of the British Academy/Leverhulme Grant (2022-2023), we were invited to deliver two seminars to share our research findings on modern slavery practices in the UK. These workshops attracted a diverse group of stakeholders, including anti-slavery activists and academics. The sessions facilitated meaningful dialogue on the gaps and best practices in modern slavery disclosures, bridging the divide between academic research and real-world applications. By raising awareness of corporate governance’s role in addressing modern slavery, the workshops contributed to greater societal impact and policy discussions
