Dr Rukhsana Kausar


I am working as a Senior lecturer at Westminster Business School (WBS) at University of Westminster in since September 2011. I have professional qualification of trained graduate teacher and am also a HEA fellow. Before joining WBS, I worked as a lecturer at  Royal Docks Business School, University of East London. I also worked as a research fellow at University of Surrey after successful completion of my PhD from University of Surrey in 2010, under the supervision of Professor Stephen Drinkwater. My interests lie in Applied Microeconomics, Quants,  labour economics and the Labour Market, Migration and , with a specific focus on immigrants and different ethnic groups among them.

Altogether I have more than 15 years of teaching experience at various levels. I have been supervising graduate and post- graduate students over the years.  I also have experience of teaching International students and am very confident in dealing with international students from different educational, social and ethnic backgrounds. I have professional qualification of trained graduate teacher.

Presently I am working on Professional and Managerial Occupational Attainments of second generation of ethnic females in the UK, using LFS. 

I worked as a research fellow at University of Surrey on Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and ESRC jointly funded project “Identifying Social and Economic Push and Pull factors responsible for Migration to the UK by Bulgarian and Romanian nationals” (ESRC Grant No.RES-173-27-0208).  I have published many research articles and working papers and report.
