Prof Jane Wright

Prior to joining the University of Westminster in 1989, I worked as a salaried partner at Edwin Hill and Partners (now Altus Edwin Hill). Here I specialised in Development Land Tax valuations and negotiations. And also in general Landlord and Tenant Act work.

From 1989 I worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster delivering valuation and appraisal modules. I became course leader for BSc (Hons) Urban Estate Management and expanded the property portfolio to 4 Ug courses.

In 2000 I was appointed Head of the Department of Property and Construction within what was then The Faculty of the Built Environment. In 2018 my then Department moved to Westminster Business School and merged with  Project Management and digital Business to become the School of Applied Management. Here I am Head of School.

Along with my two Assistant heads of School we provide academic leadership and delivery of the School’s strategic plan through the effective performance management of staff. We are responsible for enhancing the quality of the School's teaching and research. We plan, develop and enhance the performance of the School's staff and financial resources, and oversee the day to day management of staff carrying out its academic operations. We are responsible for planning and resource allocation to deliver University planning and performance targets.

Almost all the Schools courses are accredited by 1 or more Professional bodies and an additional role is to ensure that all of these programmes meet professional body requirements.

Our current growth strategy is founded on the development of a range of Degree Apprenticeship courses which builds on our excellent relations with a wide range of industry employers.
