Dr Rhys Mould


I began my PhD journey in 2016 at the University of Westminster, joining the Research Centre for Optimal Health to investigate how natural products can "prime" cancer cells for drug-induced cell death. In 2019, I was honoured to receive the inaugural Guy Foundation research grant, which enabled the establishment of the Guy Foundation Quantum Bioenergetics Laboratory.
Our lab is dedicated to Quantum Biology: exploring how quantum mechanics—the fundamental principles that govern life—may influence and enhance biological processes. We focus particularly on the mitochondria, the central hub of bioenergetics, to understand how quantum phenomena might shape cellular function and health.
