Mr Kartikeya Rajput

Kartikeya Rajput studied architecture and worked with the leading architects in India before taking the MArch in Sustainable Environmental Design at the AA.

He works as an Associate Environmental Consultant at Urban Systems Design Ltd. His professional experience ranges from developing large scale master plans to off-grid temporary shelter with architectural practices including RSH+P, Hopkins, RPBW, Santiago Calatrava, Fosters+Partners, Grafton’s, and Wilkinson Erye Architects. He contributed to the development of prominent design schemes in the UK and abroad such as LSE Centre building, Music School - King’s College, Shard Place, Dubai Observation tower, Whiteleys, Kingston University, and Battersea Power Station Redevelopment.

Kartikeya believes in integrating sustainability early on in the design and specialises in a variety of state-of-the-art environmental simulation techniques such as thermal analysis, daylighting, solar studies, CFD analysis, Indoor, and Outdoor thermal comfort studies, Embodied Carbon and Operational Energy Assessment and application of parametric tools for optimisation.

His interest lies in expanding the realm of integrated passive design and exploring the use of computational parametric modelling in evolving the building design process. Through his experience of working in building services industry coupled with his architecture background he has developed a greater understanding of the two disciplines on the overall environmental performance of the buildings.

Kartikeya has acquired in-depth skills of analysing, designing and, exploring innovative technologies to achieve the best possible passive design solutions and enjoys experimenting with traditional sustainable design technologies.

He created be-spoke environmental analysis tools such as Embodied carbon calculator (LCA tool) and participated in various conferences including, PLEA & BAMB.

His recent publication includes co-authoring scientific research from the BAMB conference along with the Westminster university staff and students.
