Dr Miu Yee Rose Wong


Dr. Miu-Yee Wong is currently a Lecturer in Construction and the Course Leader of Foundation level of all programmes offered by the School of Applied Management.  Before that, she was the Senior Lecturer cum Programme Leader (Real Estate and Facilities Management) at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) to oversee all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in her disciplines.  Being a seasoned practitioner in built environment sector, Dr. Wong possesses the qualifications of Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), Chartered Building Engineer (MCABE), Chartered Housing Manager (CIHCM), and with other professional memberships.  She has substantial experience in working at the managerial positions at both the public and private sectors.  Other than her concrete professional engagement, Dr. Wong involves extensively in vocational training for the industry for years, and with solid experience in programme accreditation and revalidations with the statutory body as well as the professional associations.  

Dr. Wong is an External Examiner of Leeds Beckett University and some institutions in Hong Kong.  She took up teaching roles and acted as the programme lead for several facilities and property management programmes ranging from Hong Kong Qualification Framework Level 1 to 6 in various tertiary institutions at Hong Kong, which included the franchised degree programmes of De Montfort University and Leeds Beckett University.  Dr. Wong was also being appointed by Hong Kong SAR Government as the Course Developer and the Course Reviewer to those centralized and standardized programmes for retraining purpose in facilities and property management industry.

In 2021, Dr. Wong obtained the HKMU President's Awards for Distinguished Achievement.

Dr. Wong holds a BA (Hons) Housing Studies from the City University of Hong Kong, a MSc in International Real Estate from the Royal Agricultural University (Merit), a Doctor of Business Administration from the Catholic University of Murcia (Merit), a Post-graduate Certificate in Facilities Management from the University of Greenwich and a Post-graduate Certificate in Research and Professional Studies in Education from the University of Bristol.  

In addition, Dr. Wong devotes to contribute in community development, she currently serves the Catholic Diocese Hong Kong in conservation of historical religious buildings and at numerous built environment professional bodies in external affair, education and membership committees.
