Dr Asma Begum

Dr. Asma Begum demonstrates a profound commitment to public and community engagement, actively engaging both herself and her students in diverse initiatives that benefit society. She arranges field trips, invites industry experts to share their insights, and collaborates with campus career advisors to facilitate student internships and job placements. She conceptualized and coordinated The Bazaar: Shop for a Cause event in collaboration with various campus departments to raise funds for the Salam Ya Seghar Campaign, initiated by the office of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi and Big Heart Foundation. Dr Begum also supported the Sharjah Campus in the student’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2014 in Sharjah. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role in organizing annual debates, poster competitions, and interdepartmental events that contribute to a vibrant academic community. Her responsibilities extend to chairing academic misconduct hearings, leading anti-plagiarism campaigns, and delivering workshops on academic writing. Furthermore, she actively participates in charity and environmental initiatives, underscoring her steadfast dedication to social responsibility and community service.
