Dr Andrea Martina


Dr Andrea Martina is an Assistant Head of School and the Director of International for the School of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Westminster.

In his current role, Dr Martina oversees the development and delivery of the international engagement plans for the School, focusing on global partnerships, global student recruitment and global student experience opportunities while enhancing global collaborations.

He also acts as Liaison Tutor for two partnerships with likewise international partners. The Westminster International University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and The Westminster College in Lalitpur (Nepal).

Before joining the University of Westminster, he worked as Programme Director for Online Programmes at Kaplan Open Learning, as a VR Specialist at the University of Liverpool, as a Senior Lecturer at Ravensbourne University, as a Programme Coordinator at the SAE Institute and as a lecturer and postdoc researcher at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy).

Dr Martina received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy. His research interests include immersive technologies, virtual heritage, educational technologies, game development, UX/Usability, Web Design/Development and Computer Graphics.

He has extensive experience in online learning and alternative/flexible learning pathways.

He is the Module Leader for the "Computer Science Final Year Project", the year-long module involving 250+ students and 60 supervisors.
