Dr Sabina Cioboata


Sabina Cioboata is Research Associate at the School of Architecture and Cities of the University of Westminster. She has expertise in the fields of urbanism, international development and sustainability, developed across academia, international organisations and the third sector, in both Asia and Europe. She has been involved in a number of multi-stakeholder projects on topics ranging from green urban mobility to regional development, urban climate action and education for sustainable development.

Sabina holds a doctorate in Urban Studies from the University of Westminster, which explored wellbeing, urban regeneration and socio-spatial justice in China. She also has a background in the culture and heritage sectors, having obtained an MA in Cultural Heritage Studies from University College London in 2013. Between 2014 – 2017, she worked for WHITRAP (the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for Asia and the Pacific Region), a UNESCO Category II Centre based in Shanghai, China.
