Dr Steven Stagg

Upon leaving university, I embarked on a career in writing, directing, and acting. Later, I pursued an undergraduate degree in psychology at the Open University, followed by an MSc in Research Methods at Goldsmiths College. In 2013, I earned my PhD from Goldsmiths, focusing on social attention in autistic children. My research, which encompasses both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, centres on autism and developmental disorders. Recently, I have explored 'meltdowns' in autistic adults and the process of self-diagnosing autism. I have a keen interest in how minoritised communities experience autism and their specific concerns. Currently, I am engaged in projects addressing these topics.
