Dr Carlos Jimenez-Bescos


Carlos is Senior Lecturer in Construction in the School of Applied Management at the University of Westminster. His research focus on sustainable construction with a focus on technology and people. He has received research funding from the British Council Newton Researcher Links, National Environment Research Council, EU-FP7 and EU-ERDF. He is editorial board member for Municipal Engineering ICE and Associate Editor for Frontiers in Energy Efficiency, as well as guest editor at several journals.


My current research involves the use of Building Simulation to assess overheating risk in low energy housing and buildings, coupled with energy and indoor air quality monitoring to validate building simulation models, Urban Heat Island and understand the impact of low energy technology in achieving energy efficiency. Life Cycle Assessment in NZEB and the use of digital twins in rehabilitation with the use of data analytics and machine learning techniques
