Dr Gemma McGrath

I am interested in the connections between people and places. The interstices between them and how they affect one another in a range of contexts; from employees in a range of organisations, to locals in their communities and tourists at destinations.
I am a pragmatist so I enjoy projects that help people solve problems and improve processes that allow working life to be more purposeful, sustainable and healthy
So far my research has focused on visitor interpretation and satisfaction, tour guide training as a and developing integrated heritage management.
I am currently researching the challenge of managing teams remotely and virtually and the impact on employee happiness, productivity and social capital.
