Dr Jolel Miah


Jolel is committed to public and community engagement, particularly through his work with faith groups, places of worship, and historically underserved communities. He has delivered research seminars, public talks, and mental health training programmes for faith leaders, supporting greater awareness of mental health and improving pathways to support within community settings. Through blogging, training, workshops, and invited presentations, he actively engages in science communication, translating psychological research into accessible knowledge for public, professional, and community audiences. He serves on the British Psychological Society's Board for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and is actively involved in initiatives that promote greater inclusivity across psychology. Jolel also hosts and contributes to podcasts exploring the lived experiences of individuals, carers, and communities, alongside wider discussions on health, wellbeing, and psychology. He regularly contributes to podcasts, blogs, magazines, and public engagement activities, communicating psychological science to diverse audiences and supporting public health and educational initiatives aimed at reducing inequalities and improving engagement with marginalised communities.
