Prof Lucy Brown

I’m the Founder and Director of Women in Screen and lead the Trailblazing Women On and Off Screen conference series, which promotes gender equity across higher education and the screen industries. I represented the UK as a UN Women CSW68 Delegate, contributing to international policy dialogue on equality and creative leadership.

I’m a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently serve as Deputy Chair of the National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image (NAHEMI). In 2024, I joined CILECT’s Standing Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (SCEDI), and in 2025 I was elected to the GEECT Council, the European region of the world’s largest association of film and television schools.

I also serve on the board of the historic Regent Street Cinema and the editorial board of Representology: The Journal of Media and Diversity, produced by the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity, which advances research and best practice in media representation.
