Abstract | Enterprise business models and the semantic of their dynamic changes are influenced a) by internal factors which dictate the nature and the role of business processes within the enterprise and b) by the external factors which live in enterprise’s environment, such as technological changes, customer demands and new legislations, which may have equally important role in shaping enterprise businesses models. There are not so many solutions which address the dynamic change in enterprise business models. They do indicate, to certain extent, which changes in business models are relevant and needed to be adopted within the enterprise. However, none of these proposals explore the semantics of environments described in a) and b) in order to make informed decisions on dynamic adoption of changes within the environment which have impact on enterprise business models. Thus, this project offers the dynamic enterprise business model framework designed to support decision making through the semantic management of business models. The framework is a base for creating ontological concepts and reasoning upon them in order to assess the possible dynamic change(s) of the business model and recommendations for its improvement. The outcome of the reasoning upon ontological concepts is a list of business model improvements which clearly show which factors have influenced the model and which factors become essential in retaining enterprise sustainable competitive advantage. The implementation is based on an OWL ontology, which uses OWL 2.0 modeling constructs and SWRL reasoning rules. |
