| Description | 'Manual Assembly Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3' (2016) reconfigures the code based work 'Manual_Assembly' by publishing all of its code and SVG data in three A4 650 page volumes. This version shows how revealing the code and the workings can actually lead to greater mystification. The vast quantity of information contained in the code and SVG data and the time it would take us to process it reveal the role of human limits in our experience of digital artworks. The opacity of the code and redundancy of the books as objects, amplifies the differences between human and machine, making them manifest and revealing the human limits encoded into the work. |
