Abstract | Chapter on the Whitegold project, UK, that considers the history of porcelain production in the UK and its legacy as an arts-orientated regeneration initiative based in St Austell, Cornwall. Published as part of the 'Critical Reading' project in 2020-2021, organised by Project 7 ½, Korea, and funded by the Korean Arts Council. The project involved activists, architects, artists, curators, and educators from Korea, Indonesia, and the UK. The idea of Critical Reading relates to the attempts of the participants to consider their various regional concerns from different perspectives. Each of the participants reflected on how the changing socio-economic and environmental situations in their regional contexts have been reflected in art activities in recent decades. |
