Abstract

This paper presents an innovative mixed methodology approach that can be used for architecture and engineering research. It details a mixed methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative data, which joins a matrix system with an iterative system. The elements of the matrix are new structural systems. Some of these elements are reproduced on models to be improved by an iterative process that allows finding a desired result by means of a repeated cycle of operations. Combining qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques improves the analytic power of studies. This integrated strategy represents a new way of researching for different structures applicable to future environmentally friendly buildings.
