Abstract

These catalogues supported the events 'Moving Pictures' at the Zoroastrian Centre as part of the London Migration Film Festival on 26th November 2024 and Nanaksar Gurdwara as part of the Coventry Biennale of Contemporary Art Jan 21st 2026.

The Zoroastrian centre event catalogue includes a series of short essays reflecting on the project and broader themes around 'faith, migration and placemaking' from artist filmmaker Dr Julie Marsh, Prof Cangbai Wang, Dr Kate Jordan and artist-curator Dima Karout. The catalogue is introduced by an essay from Malcolm M Deboo, the president of the Zoroastrian Centre.

The Nanaksar Gurdwara event catalogue includes a statement from artist filmmaker Dr Julie Marsh, an oveview from the temple committee, an artist statement and an essay on community collaboration from Ryan Huges, the Coventry Biennale curator.

Both publications were supported by CREAM (Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media) and HOMELandS (Hub on Migration, Exile, Languages and Spaces), University of Westminster.
