Abstract

Immersive audio technologies are transforming the landscape of contemporary sound making, offering new possibilities for spatial exploration and audience engagement. Recognising that many established workflows treat spatialisation as an afterthought, this paper introduces a forward facing digital instrument that unifies synthesis and audio processing under the guiding principle of ‘sound as space.’ By integrating three dimensional spatial parameters such as azimuth, elevation, and distance, directly into the instrument’s core signal flow, the design embeds depth and movement on par with pitch and timbre.
