My teaching philosophy is student-centred in which I offer opportunities to develop the s kills of the students and increase their employability. Since I have connections from the industry, I plan workshops in which I invite marketing professionals from the industry to give short lectures about relevant marketing topics. Additionally, I was part of setting up a public speaking club in which I constantly encourage student to join to enhance their communication skills. To make the module more student-led, I ask students to look-out on social media and public transportations of new ads so they can share and discuss them in class. Moreover, since the cities that I taught in are diverse, I seek to personalise teaching to match different student backgrounds and interests. I always ask students to arrive ten minutes early so we can discuss various topics. For example, last year I had a lot of Indian students and in the beginning of one class we played Indian music to celebrate, Diwali, an Indian festival. Other topics we discuss were the football world cup and so on. This approach had a positive impact on students’ attendance and interest in the lectures. Lastly, I always communicate to students the different resources and departments that offer pastoral care services.Â
