Dr Nicholas Baidoo


Dr Nicholas Baidoo is committed to advancing biomedical science education, public health awareness and workforce development within the healthcare sector. Throughout his career, he has played an active role in supporting the professional development of aspiring biomedical scientists, mentoring graduates and laboratory professionals pursuing registration with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC and career progression within pathology services.

As a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science IBMS, Dr Baidoo contributes to the training and development of the biomedical science workforce through teaching, mentorship and professional practice support. His work helps prepare future biomedical scientists with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required for careers in diagnostic laboratories, research institutions and healthcare organisations.

At the University of Westminster, Dr Baidoo is actively involved in widening participation in science education and promoting awareness of biomedical science among students and healthcare professionals. Through his teaching and co-course leader roles, he supports continuing professional development for NHS staff and contributes to the advancement of practical knowledge within the healthcare sector.

Dr Baidoo also engages in collaborative research and knowledge exchange activities aimed at improving understanding of age-related gastrointestinal disorders and their impact on the ageing population. His research seeks to inform healthcare practice and contribute to the development of evidence-based approaches that enhance patient care and quality of life for older individuals.

In addition, he has provided technical training, laboratory instruction and research support to multidisciplinary teams across leading healthcare and research institutions, fostering collaboration between academia, clinical practice and scientific research. Through these activities, he continues to promote excellence in biomedical science, healthcare education and translational research, while supporting the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals.
