TitleInto the Future…The October 2017 ‘Growing AI in the UK’ Report
AuthorsKathrani, P.
Description

Artificial intelligence is unquestionably impacting on many areas of life and on 15 October 2017, Professor Dame Wendy Hall and Jérôme Pesenti presented a report to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy on the conditions required to place the UK at the forefront of this growth. The report, titled ‘Growing the Artificial Intelligence Industry in the UK’, sets out a series of strategic recommendations to the government, based on core pillars such as data supply and control, business and industry, and skills and education, with a view to providing the UK with a foundation on which to develop a strong, AI-ready future. This panel event brings together published and distinguished speakers from the fields of data regulation, business and entrepreneurship and journalism to dissect the report and its implications for the future, followed by an audience question and answer session.
