Description

As part of the London Festival of Architecture, this event reimagined the now-closed Tower Tavern as P.U.B. - Platform for Unwritten Books, a temporary hub for sharing personal stories and interdisciplinary dialogue. Conceived as a Human Library, the event invited participants to "check out" human "books" - individuals from diverse backgrounds who shared lived experiences, research journeys, and unspoken ideas through one-on-one conversations.

Grounded in the concept of everyday heritage, the Human Library positioned personal narratives as valuable forms of cultural knowledge. By creating space for informal, first-person storytelling, the event challenged traditional hierarchies of expertise and foregrounded lived experience as a site of meaning-making. This approach aligns with current academic discourse in critical heritage studies, which recognises the importance of the everyday, the ephemeral, and the relational in shaping how heritage is produced, shared, and understood.

The format encouraged active listening, empathy, and reciprocal exchange, fostering interdisciplinary connections and enabling alternative narratives to emerge beyond conventional academic structures.
