This event comprised of an afternoon study seminar and film screenings.

Go Back and Get it: Seeking Sankofa - Sankofa screening and study seminar
At Westminster's Regent Street campus from 14:00 – 17:00, CREAM PhD researcher, artist and activist Barby Asante and DJ Rabz Lansiquot, led a an afternoon study seminar and film screening of Haile Gerima’s "Sankofa" (1993). Asante and Lansquot explored the resonances of the term Sankofa to rethink Sankofa as a social, collaborative, transformative process of interruption and disruption.

This was followed by an evening screening and discussion entitled Sankofa Whispers: Remembering, Reflecting and Reframing screened at Regent Street Cinema, 6.30 – 8.30pm of short artist films that explored African diasporic memory practices and knowledges. The films included works by Barby Asante, Halima Haruna and Onyeka Igwe. The evening discussion was led by Barby Asante, DJ Rabz Lansiquot and Filmmaker, researcher and educator, Judah Attille.
