| Abstract | The 3rd CIJIA took place from 14–15 September 2023 at the Universidad de Granada and aimed to create a space for debate and learning among young researchers whose work focuses on the African continent and its Diaspora. The event encouraged the participation not only of doctoral candidates and early-career PhD researchers, but also of Master’s and Bachelor’s students, as well as independent researchers interested in developing their knowledge and contributing new studies. Among the participants, María-José Gonzálvez presented a paper entitled “Literature as a Creative Space of Resistance: Decolonial Perspectives from the African Diaspora in Dientes blancos, piel negra and Panga Rilene by Juan Tomás Ávila Laurel.” Her contribution explored how literature functions as a tool for resistance and decolonial thought through the representation of space and migration in the selected works. The title of this edition was: “Challenges and Alternatives for the Global Future: Resistance from Africa and Its Diasporas.” |
