Description

Frankfurt Experimental Film Festival September 2023.
I curated a 5 part programme of British women’s experimental films during 1990s called ‘Between Women’. The focus of for selection was on the films of my own and of the late filmmaker Sandra Lahire alongside contextual artists who were working alongside both my films and those of Lahire. The programme was to be considered in light of the forthcoming book due to be published 2025 which will focus on writings, photographs and films by Lahire and myself. I wrote programme notes for each programme which was compiled in a hard copy programme. The screenings were very well attended with an international audience and many if not most of the films were projected on 16mm. The International festival featured two selected artists which included myself and the well known Robert Beaver whose work of 4 plus decades is well known in the field. There is also an open selection of work. My film ‘Double Exposure’ premiered at this festival. A booklet including all the screenings was part of this. I was present to introduce each screening. The Dr Margherita Sprio from Westminster was invited to the festival to conduct a Q+A with myself.
At this festival I premiered ‘Double Exposure’ (16mm+Digital, 27min, 2023). It was screened with two earlier films with which it connects, ‘Cast’ (2000) and ‘Stages of Mourning (2004).

The Programme included a brochure with text for each programme.
