Abstract

Over the last couple of years, I have been working intently on developing my research in the under-researched area of gastrointestinal physiology. As a trained nutritionist (SENr)and a lecturer in human physiology, I bring both subjects together to comprehend how the gastrointestinal system may play a key role in fundamental processes such as overtraining, burnout and the human ageing process. We need to reconnect our focus on how our bodies digest and absorb food in an ever-changing world.
