| Abstract | This paper explores the transformative role of Student Mentors and Employability Coordinators in shaping undergraduate courses through collaborative curriculum co-design, co-delivery, and fostering student engagement. The initiative aimed to enhance the design, delivery, and overall development of courses while supporting Course, School, and University objectives. Key goals included promoting a collaborative approach to curriculum design, improving student engagement, and promoting an inclusive, supportive learning environment. Student partnerships directly addressed challenges such as boosting student attendance, engagement, and attainment. These partnerships also provided a platform for collecting timely feedback, enabling course teams to respond effectively to student concerns and implement actions that enhance the student learning experience. The paper highlights how Student Mentors and Employability Coordinators empower students to actively participate in curriculum co-design, co-teaching, and embedding employability skills in the course. By involving students in shaping both the content and the learning environment, this initiative fostered a sense of belonging and ownership, which in turn supported retention and success. The collaborative approach promoted deeper engagement and provided a holistic perspective on the student experience, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices for both students and staff. |
