Abstract	The games industry and new trends in interactive and immersive theatre mean that there are new challenges and opportunities for composers and sound designers to create interactive sound. Interactive sound requires designers to create sound that adapts and changes based on audience interaction and behaviour. Alongside musical and audio techniques, composers and sound designers need to be able to work in a non-linear style, learn basic elements of coding and work collaboratively across teams. This presentation will look at the current opportunities for interactive sound in games, exhibitions and theatre. It will outline music approaches that can be taken within interactive work and show how these techniques can be built and developed within your current approaches to sound.
